Here I was, just a regular person scrolling through my Twitter feed when I see the following tweet from Chelsea Handler, with the caption “Anything a man can do, a woman has the right to do better. #kremlin” followed by a link to her Instagram.
What’s that ol’ Chelsea getting into, I wonder. Probably making some kind of joke about how she can pee standing up if she wants to. That gal is a regular riot. What I did not expect was a photo of her riding a horse topless. But that’s what it was.
After doing some research, I learned the following: a YEAR ago (because that’s how worldly I am), a group of German women protested Putin, topless. Kremlin, “a historic fortified complex at the heart of Moscow,” urged Germany to punish the women. So her post was a jab at that.
After minutes, Instagram took down the comedienne’s post, but she quickly put it back up on Instagram with the caption, “Taking this down is sexist. I have every right to prove I have a better body than Putin.” Since then, she’s been playing a game of tug-a-war with Insta, posting the photo, until they remove it. She is not happy and has electing to stop using the social media app: “You can now find my dogs and my breasts on Twitter only where my followers have the right to choose what they say. Bye bye instablock.”
