Remember a few summers ago when your social media was exploding with all of your friends pouring buckets of ice water on their heads for ALS? The Ice Bucket Challenge took over summer 2014, and somehow the weird social media “challenge” aspect worked, because people raised a ton of money. Now there’s a new challenge in town. Say hello to the 22 Pushup Challenge.
The 22 Pushup Challenge was created by by a charity from the UK called Combat Stress to raise awareness (#TSM) and donations for veterans’ mental health. The “22” part of the challenge represents are pretty intense statistic. An estimated 22 veterans commit suicide per day.
And like the Ice Bucket Challenge, a lot of celebrities are getting involved.
First we see Chris Pratt get the ball rolling with his wife Anna Farris.
Then he gets Jonathan Krasinski doing pushups while his dog is all like, “we get it, you’re perfect.”
From there Chris Evans grabs the baton and tosses it to…
…not Scott Eastwood, but hi.
The Rock takes it over to Instagram.
And then JJ Watt steps up to the plate making 22 pushups look like a walk in the park.
If you’re like me and could barely lift a bucket of ice water over your head, let alone do one pushup, you can still help the cause. Save yourself the sweat and make a direct donation directly on the Combat Stress website..
