Rory’s Dad Just Accidentally Leaked A Huge Spoiler About The “Gilmore Girls” Revival

The first question I ask any “Gilmore Girls” fan like myself is “who was your favorite boyfriend?” It should be assumed that I’m talking about Rory, because everyone knows Luke and Lorelai are meant to be (remember the horoscope?!). Rory’s has had her fair share of men, that lucky bitch, but it’s really only a choice between three: Dean, Jess, and Logan.

I’m partial to Logan because in my opinon, he was the best of both worlds, but when a reporter from USA Today asked David Sutcliffe, aka Christopher Hayden, Rory’s dad, who his favorite boyfriend was, he had an interesting answer.

From USA Today:

I’m not even sure where she’s at, but I’m partial to, who’s the first boyfriend? Yes, Dean. I was going to say Jess, but I mean Dean. You know, I liked all the young actors that played her boyfriends. I know they’re not going to end up together but, Rory and Dean seem like a good couple.

YOU KNOW THEY’RE NOT GOING TO END UP TOGETHER?!

In case you missed that, Chris just let the entire world know that Rory and Dean will not be getting back together in the revival coming out this fall. I know, I know, it was a long shot, but I’m sure many Rory/Dean fans were not-so-secretly hoping the two would reconnect in the upcoming episodes, just as I’m rooting for a Rory/Logan redo. Luckily for me, that option is still on the table. Don’t you dare crush my dreams, Rory/Dean and Rory/Jess shippers.

In the interview, he also assured fans that the writing in the revival is top notch (v. important to true “Gilmore Girls” fans who were disappointed that the last season wasn’t written by the show’s original creator and writer, Amy Sherman-Palladino) and how great it is to be back in Stars Hollow.

Well, I have to keep things general, because I’ve been sworn to secrecy. I will say this, the scripts were incredible. There was something about coming back seven years later, everyone’s older and a little wiser. And maybe some of the anxiety that exists when you’re trying to put out a weekly show isn’t there anymore. In the beginning we were all still trying to find our way.

This time, there was a lightness on the set and it made more space for us to just to create and it really comes through. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product and I’m confident the fans are going love it.

I’ll forgive you for letting that huge spoiler out of the bag if the show is as good as you say it is, Chris.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Christopher is still a DILF.

Thanks for making me look cool @shaunmbenson.
