Although she is certainly her own species, there are three basic characteristics that all “cool girls” share: they watch NFL with the boys, eat nearly unlimited amounts of pizza and burgers without gaining weight, and drink beer. While I haven’t found a scientifically valid reason for watching copious amounts of sports or your insanely high metabolism, what I have found is just as good. A new, special beer has just been announced, and it’s actually, legitimately a health food.
“Barbell Brew” is the new healthy beer that will give you #fitspo goals for days. The creators of this magical beverage have somehow managed to produce a drink that is low in calories, gluten-free, and high enough in protein that you can skip that nasty shake you drink after working out. Yes, really. One bottle of Barbell Brew has 21.8 grams of protein or the same amount as three extra-large eggs. It also only has 92 calories (!!!) and less than 2 grams of carbs, so you won’t feel any guilt about hitting the bar after your evening spin class.
Unfortunately, for those of us in the land of the free, Barbell Brew is only available in the U.K. at the moment — study abroad anyone? If you happen to find yourself across the pond, you’ll only have to drop a little over $22 U.S. dollars to pick up a six-pack, which I guarantee is significantly less than your most recent bar tab. If you need me, I’ll be planning my vacation to Europe, where apparently my drinking habit will make me look like Adriana Lima.
Cheers, everyone..
