Delta Chi "Involved" In Shooting At Northern Arizona University

Late last night, around 1am, there was a confrontation between “two separate student groups,” involving members of Delta Chi at Northern Arizona University. Things turned physical, and it eventually resulted in a shooting, with three injured and one dead, believed to be at the hands of freshman Steven Jones, 18, who had the gun and shot the four students. He is now being held in police custody.

Delta Chi nationals confirms that the fraternity was “involved” with the confrontation, but the names of the four male students who were shot are not yet confirmed to have been in the fraternity.

Statement

The student body is grieving and many students from all over are sending their prayers to the organization.

The shooting occurred outside Mountain View Hall, an all-Greek residence area where “the majority of NAU Greek students” live.

The alarming rate at which shootings are occurring on college campuses is nothing short of catastrophic.
