The internet is a weird and sometimes terrifying place and the more “accepted” you are in society, the bigger target you have on your back. ASU recently received a terrorist attack, specifically against frat guys and girls.
This is not funny and not something to joke about, if you are at ASU today please be safe pic.twitter.com/bEaM7ePbBk

The “beta uprising” is a term being floated around the internet. Self-described “beta” men who are regularly rejected by women, and angry at the “alpha” men who “get” women have dozens of online forums dedicated to spreading hate and planning their counter attacks.
We are aware of unsubstantiated social media threats to a Univ. in AZ Does not appear credible, safety is paramount. We are investigating.

Although the ASU and Tempe police do not believe these threats to be valid, they are continuing to investigate the situation. There have been no signs of violence as of yet.
Regardless, this type of behavior and pattern is concerning to say the least. Be nice to nerds, I guess..
