FAU’s Delta Tau Delta Raised Thousands Of Dollars For Charity By Selling Spots In Line For The New iPhone

The members of Delta Tau Delta at Florida Atlantic University capitalized on the inevitable long lines people would be waiting in for new iPhones today. For the meager price of a $100 donation to their charity, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the boys have camped out all night in line for an iPhone so you don’t have to.

Last year, the guys raised about $4500 for their cause, and this year, the philanthropy event is bigger than ever. Sixty brothers, none of whom will be buying their own iPhones, have been camping out since 10pm last night at Boca Raton’s Town Center mall waiting for the release of the newest Apple product. The guys were permitted to enter the mall at 6 o’clock this morning, and were admittedly “pretty sleep-deprived,” but overall felt good about what they were doing.

DTD has gotten some backlash for “exploiting” the Apple product, but overall the response has been pretty positive. Local pizza shops and FAU sororities have supported the brothers of Delta Tau Delta by providing them with snacks for their hard work. Tons of people have donated money, and pleased with themselves, the boys seem ready to tailgate tomorrow, per their Twitter account.

Frat on.
