There are thousands of adorable ways for guys to propose, most of which end up plastered all over the Internet to make people (like me) feel bad about themselves. I’ll probably end up with that loser who pops the question by nudging me and saying, “So, uh, maybe we should, like, get married or something.” This is why I choose to swoon over adorable Internet scenarios that will never happen to me. Sigh.
In one of the best stories yet, Donnie McGilvray (no wonder he pulled an excessively romantic gesture, his name is fucking Donnie) used Coca-Cola’s Share a Coke ad campaign to ask his girlfriend, Eloise, to marry him. He really outdid himself, using six old-fashioned, customized Coke bottles and a bouquet of flowers. He apparently asked her to put the milk away in the fridge, and when she opened the door, she saw “Beautiful Eloise, will you marry me?” Because nothing says “I love you” quite like diabetes.
My question to the happy couple is this. What do you do with the bottles now? Do you drink them? On one hand, it seems kind of redundant to drink the bottles after they’re used in such a significant way. On the other hand, Coke is fucking delicious.
Eloise said yes, by the way. A day after the photo went viral, Coca-Cola responded to the photo with an image to congratulate the happy couple.
God, I’m single as fuck.
