Get Involved In A National Conversation About Sexual Assault

It's On Us

Last fall, President Obama launched the “It’s On Us” campaign to end sexual assault on campus, which asked all of us to “make a personal commitment to step off the sidelines and be part of the solution to campus sexual assault.” Celebrities and organizations like the NCAA and MTV got involved, many of us took the pledge and changed our profile picture. But now there is an opportunity to do more.

The campaign has launched a Student Advisory Committee, and you can apply to be a part of it. From GenerationProgress.org:

“The It’s On Us Student Advisory Committee will serve as a way for exemplary student leaders to take a larger role in bringing the It’s On Us message to campus and communities across the country. These 10-15 students will serve as our student thought leaders. They will have the opportunity to help us shape our national and local strategy, as well as play an integral role in activating new students on campuses. We will provide them with media training and leadership development.”

Applications are due Friday, August 21st; more information about the committee, the necessary qualifications, and the application are available here.

We already know that sorority women are leaders on their campuses on so many issues; now it’s time for us to lead nationally on this issue. So get applying, sisters.
