I’m definitely not an expert on art because, like everyone else who took art in high school, I just took the class because it was an easy A. When I first saw the “artwork” above, I was like, cool, another toddler’s arts and craft project masquerading as art. Nope. It’s semen. Like actual man/woman juice. If this is art, I’m really, really glad I don’t get it.
The artist is Faith Holland and the piece above is titled “Ookie Canvas 1,” but I think it should’ve been called “Icky Canvas 1,” amirite ladies? Holland literally requested “anonymous submissions of CUM SHOTS that will be used as part of an artwork. Submissions will be accepted from any and all genders as long as it is fluid emitted as the result of an orgasm.” The funny thing is, I bet that’s not even the weirdest Craigslist ad out there. She then took the images sent to her and digitally isolated pictures of semen and put them together to make this modern-day Picasso painting.
So it’s not actual sex stuff, but it’s a ton of pictures of love potion. From strangers. To make art. It still looks a toddler’s arts and craft project, but just grosser and will probably sell for a ton of money and get hung up on display in some Brooklyn loft where hipsters have lengthy discussions on what each specific cum shot means to them. Art is weird, you guys..
