Remember that one time you passed out on your couch, only to wake up at 2AM watching a terrible infomercial? Well, that gorgeous model sporting the latest foundation (which you can buy for only 3 small payments of $99.99) is Christie Brinkley. Brinkley was basically the Gigi Hadid of her era. And while she’s still a stunner, she has moved on from modeling and even started a family of her own. Enter: Sailor Brinkley Cook.
Sailor is the daughter of Christie and Peter Cook, and she is rightfully carving her spot in the modeling scene. However, given that she is the daughter of one of the most iconic models of all time, people are naturally starting to compare her to her mom. And because the internet is a dark and terrible place filled with people like myself, bitches are being ruthless.
The commenters go on to criticize her school of choice, which is Parsons School of Design. As you can see in the photo caption, Sailor was pretty fed up with the bullshit. Now, Sailor raises many valid points about how “comparison is toxic” and how she “worked her ass off” to get into her dream school. Join the club, honey. But honestly? I can understand why people are comparing her to her mother. Hell, people compare me to my mom and we aren’t even models. Sailor does say she is her own person, with her own face and own beliefs, but I think she may need a small lesson in genetics before heading off to design school. She’s literally half Christie.
Perhaps this is just me manifesting my own unhappiness, but I think comments like these should exist. I mean, a guy called her average looking. That’s the average Tuesday afternoon for me. And if she is easily offended by an anonymous comment, then bless her poor soul as she enters into design school. But then again, being nice isn’t exactly my business..
