I love “Girls.” I love the witty writing, I love the snarky jokes, I love the clothes, I love the music, and I love the relatability. But most of all, more than all of that, I love Jessa. With her British accent, her mermaid hair, and her clothes that are a cross between couture and something you would find on a homeless crackhead in SoHo, I honestly just can’t get enough. I. Love. Her. After recently coming across a series of photographs chronicling her life beyond the set, however, I learned that I don’t just love Jessa. I love the woman who plays her just as much.
Jemima Kirke, 28, is a badass bitch if there ever was one. The daughter of a rock star, she grew up in London and New York, much like the character she plays. She’s a painter by trade and only began acting after her real-life friend, Lena Dunham, convinced her to–you know, because that’s totally normal and happens to all of us. Whatever. I’m so jealous, inspired, amazed, and in love that I don’t even know what to do with myself.
Take a look at a day in the life of Jemima Kirke and try to control your emotions. If you need me, I’ll be spending the last of my paycheck at World Market–boho chic is where it’s at. Or, at least that’s what my girl Jemima taught me.
P.S. She’s married to a lawyer. Some girls just get all the luck.
