Kendall Jenner has traded in her sister Kylie Jenner for another pop culture icon – Marcel the Monkey from Friends (or as Netflix would have me type out, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. – that is some bullshit right there, Netflix).
For reasons that are not entirely clear and I have a feeling will never be sufficiently explained, The Allure creative team decided that Kendall was not up to the task of shouldering the weight of her March 2015 issue photoshoot alone, and so seasoned show business pro Marcel the Monkey from Friends (that is legally his full-name now) was brought in to show her the ropes.
Marcel the Monkey from Friends, if you remember, was the show’s worst plot point from approximately 1994 to 1996. He was born out the writers’ misguided attempt to placate the audience and give Ross something to do (why that had to be “buy a pet monkey”, I can’t entirely say) before they got him together with Rachel. That being said, I still like his tenure on the show one thousand times more than the Rachel/Joey storyline of seasons eight and ten.
Although I am, quite frankly, surprised that Marcel is still alive some twenty-odd years later, I’m glad to see that he’s keeping himself busy mentoring up-and-coming young models. I can’t lie though, in an ideal world I would have liked to see a photoshoot with Kendall’s forgotten sibling Rob Kardashian and Hugsy the Bedtime Penguin Pal.
