On Sunday, Kanye West stopped his show at the Meadows festival in New York. Kanye started his show 30 minutes later than scheduled, and didn’t originally identify the reason. He began with “thanks for rocking with me tonight,” and proceeded with the concert as planned. But about halfway through, a man ran on stage and spoke to West who then stopped and told the audience “sorry guys, family emergency I have to leave the show,” and abruptly ran off stage. Initially, a 10-minute intermission was set but this was quickly canceled and the show did not continue.
West had to end the show early because wife Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris while attending fashion week. Yikes.
Spokesperson for Kardashian, Ina Treciokas told CNN,
“Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed.”
The prosecutor’s office claim over $10 million worth of jewelry was stolen from Kim, including a $4.49 million ring.
Kim is okay, but being held up actually in her hotel room is probably terrifying. It’s unsurprising and sweet that Kanye ran to her side immediately. Kim was in Paris for fashion week where Kendall was walking the runway. Social media quickly blew up after the incident with prayers for Kim and the West family, but I imagine the real relief was getting the fuck out of Paris, stat. .
