Lifetime Is Making A TV Series About Selena Gomez’s Career In Hollywood

Let’s be honest, most 23-year-olds haven’t accomplished a ton of exciting stuff. Sure, by that age, you’ve (hopefully) graduated high school and college, and you’re working at your first job and trying to figure out what you want to be when you grow up. Nothing that’s electrifying enough for a one-hour TV special, must less an entire series.

But then again, most 23-year-olds aren’t Selena Gomez. So it’s not really a surprise that on Wednesday, Lifetime announced plans to develop a TV show inspired by her life.

According to Deadline, the series “draws from the young actress’ experience navigating a career in Hollywood as seen through the eyes of her friends who quickly become her most trusted inner circle.”

Sounds kind of like the female version of Entourage, doesn’t it? And given their #squadstatus, it stands to reason that Tay-Tay is going to be in that “most trusted inner circle” – the only question is, who is going to play her? And even more importantly – who is going to play the Biebs?!

Speaking of who is going to be playing who in the series, the role of Selena is up for grabs as well. Reports say that Selena won’t act in the series, but she will executive produce the show, along with Kevin Spacey (random) and Dana Brunetti.

The working title for the series is A Midsummer’s Nightmare, and it is “an anthological concept where each season takes a classic Shakespearean tale and twists it into a modern-day horror-mystery.”

While the lack of Selena on screen is a bit disappointing, I must admit I’m pretty excited to get all of the behind the scenes gossip on Barney and Wizards of Waverly Place, never mind the real story on her romance with Justin.
