Mariah Carey. She’s many things. Mother. Performer. Inventor of whistle tone. Diva extraordinaire. Only artist to have a number one in every year of the ’90s (who knew?). Iconic shade thrower. Queen of not knowing who Jennifer Lopez is.
And still not knowing who she is years later.
She’s essentially a caricature of herself, and I love it. The jewels, the rich husband, the overuse of the word “fabulous” and “darling,” you can’t help but respect it. Well Mimi has officially outdone herself this time.
Over the past weekend she threw a themed party. This wasn’t just any themed party. It wasn’t a “CEOs & Office Hoes” party. It wasn’t an “ABC” party. It wasn’t even the always illustrious all-white party. Oh no. This party theme was next level. The theme was, drum roll please, Mariah Carey themed.
I hate the term “#goals.” But #GOALS. The soiree included 40-50 of Mariah’s pals, male and female, all dressed as the diva herself. I can only imagine the number of push-up bras in that room. The party host chose to dress as her sultry brunette alter ego, “Bianca” from her Rainbow music video.
She seems even more intimidating than Mariah herself. Who even knew that was possible?
The gathering of Mimis was supposedly filmed for her upcoming E! docuseries Mariah’s World. I will be patiently waiting for its premiere to see if J.Lo received an invitation. Fingers crossed.
One-thousand points to Mariah. We all need to take notes..
