I was walking through Target last night when something caught my eye. I paused, did a double take, and then proceeded to walk backwards toward the aisle that I had just passed. While I don’t always take notice of CD covers, something about this one grabbed my attention.
“That doesn’t really look like Meghan Trainor” I thought to myself as I grabbed hold of the album. Nope. It didn’t look like her at all. The girl staring back at me looked like a completely different person. In fact, she looked more like Dianna Agron from “Glee” than the actual “All About That Bass” singer. So I started digging through the other CDs on the shelf. One by one, I grabbed them and tossed them aside. Was my mind playing tricks on me? Had I simply imagined what this girl looked like? Was this really her? And then I saw it. Buried beneath the other skinny Meghans, I saw the real one. The actual Meghan Trainor. Shoved behind the airbrushed and shadowed versions of herself, the real girl was found. Take a look at the shocking difference below:
The whole thing really pisses me off. This girl’s entire message is to love your body no matter what, yet someone decided that it was perfectly acceptable to photoshop the shit out of her in an effort to make her look skinnier. Someone’s about to have a PR nightmare on their hands..
