They are talking to me, right? I am turning 23 in a couple of months.
Unfortunately, no they are not talking to me, because the above quote is a description for a casting call for the reprise of MTV’s… MY SUPER SWEET 16. YES. YOU READ CORRECTLY. MY SUPER SWEET 16 IS COMING BACK!
Remember all those times you watched 16-year-olds cry about getting a BMW instead of a Range Rover? Remember when you watched them enter their parties on white horses? And have male models deliver their invitations by hand? Yeah, me too, I cried with them, but for entirely different reasons.
This reprise has a bit of a spin to it. They have to be rich, spoiled, and annoying, per usual, but they also have to be social media famous. They have to submit their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram profiles when applying for the show, because that is the progress we’ve made as a nation in the past ten years.
The casting announcement says:
We want to showcase the most Instagram-enviable celebrations ever seen. Snap the sweetest and most memorable moments of your life that’ll make all your Snapchat followers comment #goals when they see just how turnt your party gets!
