Netflix Study Shows There Are 3 Types Of Binge Watchers

We are all lazy. We spend most times indoors staring at a screen. We all watch Netflix on our ex-boyfriend’s cousin’s grandma’s neighbor’s account. What separates us from the pack is what time of Netflixer we are. Netflix has studied our watching abilities, and before you shudder in embarrassment with the amount of times you’ve watched *Friends*, just know that you aren’t alone. The average watcher will finished a season in a week, devoting two hours a day to their undertaking. Netflix studied 3 years of original series and 9 nine years of overall streaming and have found there are 3 types of binge watchers.

These watchers enjoy the show, but are lowkey about it.

Average Hours Per Day: 1 hour 45 minutes

Average Days To Finish Season: 6

Drug Of Choice: Political or historical dramas, comedies

Examples: The Office, House of Cards, Mad Men

Super Fan

These watchers are more invested and fully committed to finishing the story.

Average Hours Per Day: 2 hours 10 minutes

Average Days To Finish Season: 5

Drug Of choice: Dramadies, crime dramas, superhero shoes

Examples: Orange Is The New Black, Criminal Minds, Dexter

Literally Obsessed

When a new season comes out, you won’t see this person for a few days.

Average Hours Per Day: 2 hours 30 minutes

Average Days To Finish Season: 4 days

Drug Of Choice: Horrors, thriller, sci-fi

Examples: Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy
