You guys, the most MAJOR thing is happening next month. In honor of it being October (aka Hallow-month), the town where the iconic Halloweentown movies were shot is transforming itself into a real-life Halloweentown. I’ll give you a minute to freak out. This one’s for all the bitches who gave major side eye to Twilight fans for making Forks a thing, as they patiently waited to capitalize on their lifelong Marnie-obsession. Honestly, witches always trump vampires, but that’s neither here nor there.
St. Helens, Oregon is a mere forty minutes from Portland and is exactly where you’ll find me next month. They’ll be hosting a zillion Halloweentown-themed activities each weekend of October, ranging from tours, costume contests, and more. The townspeople get super into the event too, participating in a ‘Hot-Rod and Hearse’ contest and the storeowners enter into a scarecrow building contest as well.
If you’re planning on being too blackout on actual Halloween to even keep track of your cat ears, let alone keep track of your friends in a whole other town, don’t worry. They gotchu. You can check out the website to find a complete list of activities offered each weekend. They even have a Pumpkin Lighting one evening!
So grab your squad, your J Crew down vest, your pumpkin ale, and get it to the best thing that’s happened to sorority girls since the actual Halloweentown movies came out 17 (!!!) years ago..
