Moments ago the University of Central Florida issued an alert to all students. A person with a gun is rumored to be in the/near the John C. Hitt Library on the main campus.

The person or people in question have been described as “possible middle eastern gunman/woman.” As of now the library appears to have been evacuated. If you’re near the area, avoid the library, or hey, just get the hell off of the campus. As of now this is all we know, but we’ll update the situation as we learn more. Stay safe, UCF.

**UPDATE: 3:34 p.m. CST

According to KnightNews, recent reports say that it is a suspected “gunwoman.” This was based off of a social media tip. The library evucation is still in effect.

**UPDATE: 3:58 p.m. CST

As of now, the university has released a statement saying that the library is cleared.

It’s fast action like this that will hopefully keep us safe in the future. Keep your eyes peeled, and always have each other’s backs..
