Come September 13th, the iOS10 is introducing a new iMessage feature, Genius Lyric Messages, and it is a game changer. It will allow users to share GIFs, stickers and full-screen animations with song lyrics on them. The Genius Blog says all you have to do is type a few words that you want to find as lyrics and a song that matches will come up. You can then choose the picture, GIF, animation or sticker you want to use for the background of the lyrics to make it look more professional, of course.
The blog states,
We think Lyric Messages are going to be a powerful – and potentially very hilarious – way of sharing lyrics that really speak to you. We have a lot of plans for the app, but first we can’t wait to see what you create.
Imagine this familiar scene. It’s 2 a.m. The dress you borrowed from Ashley is soaked in vodka. You’re trying to befriend the Uber driver enough to take you to Taco Bell, and you are in a fabulous mood for no real reason. You’re a shit show and proud of it. When your friends try texting you asking what the fuck you are doing and if you are even still in America, you’re feeling too lazy/inebriated to respond. As always, your drunken alter ego believes you’re the next upcoming comedian/songwriter/Hollywood’s big star, so you need to text them something clever for you to snicker at in a way that worries the Uber driver.
When Ashley asks if her dress is okay, you start to type “Is it too late now to say sorry?” And Justin Bieber lyrics pop up. You add the background and BAM! What an artistic bitch. Your hammered brain didn’t even have to go into overdrive. Genius Lyric Messages did it for you. It’s fun as fuck. Emojis, Bitmojis, Genius Lyric Messages, the only question now is, what’s next?.
