I thought the average IQ of E! stars couldn’t get any lower, but it has. Olympic Gold medalist swimmer, Ryan Lochte, has been given his own reality show on the network.
What Would Ryan Lochte Do? will follow the hot swimmer as he navigates the rough waters of life. The docu-series will chronicle Lochte’s experiences as he swims through daily activities, like working on his fashion line (which I don’t understand, since the only thing I want to see him in is a Speedo), dealing with his family, and searching for a soul mate. The show will also detail Lochte’s training in preparation for the 2016 Olympics.
I’m not saying I don’t love the fact that Lochte, and his abs, and his shoulders, will be gracing my television screen, because I think that’s absolutely wonderful. I just think that he’s like a small child: better seen than heard. Every interview the swimmer has ever given has made viewers question his mental capacity. In fact, there has even been speculation that he has mental retardation. I can’t fathom what profound things he’ll have to say when he hasn’t already mentally prepared answers to obvious questions. This also makes me a little concerned with the state of E! as a network, as I’m sure they’ll be filming a special when Kim Kardashian gives birth, which will inevitably be followed by a Kimye + baby spinoff of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
Needless to say, I’ll be watching the series, but I’ll be watching it on mute, and I’ll be hoping the only thing he does is swim around shirtless for an entire half hour. I don’t even like sports, but I LOVED the Olympics for that sole reason, so I’m assuming I’ll feel similarly throughout What Would Ryan Lochte Do?
So…jeah?
