Science Says Champagne Is Good For Your Health

Champagne

What a time to be alive. The scientific discovery of the year is finally here. No, we haven’t found a cure for cancer or discovered life on Mars or figured out how to make moms stop using Facebook incorrectly. This is something much, much better.

According to Metro, science says it’s time to start popping bottles because the more champagne you drink, the better your chances of fighting dementia later in life.

That’s right. Researchers at Reading University have found that if you don’t want your future Facebook posts to resemble your granny’s awkward comments and meme-sharing, you should be drinking three glasses of champagne a week. A chemical found in our favorite party beverage can help to boost memory and keep away Alzheimer’s, among other brain diseases. If you don’t feel like you have cause to celebrate (LOL finals), don’t worry — the same compound is found in pinot noir. So yes, even if you’ve just gotten dumped, you can still drown your sorrows in a bottle of red, and be doing your 80-year-old future self a favor. Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s off to the liquor store for me. Cheers!
