Taylor Swift Releases New Song And Holy Shit Is It Amazing

I have a love/hate relationship with Taylor Swift. I love to make fun of her because, honestly, it’s just so easy. She kind of brings it on herself. She loves cats, she’s a little dorky, and she spends her free weekends baking and watching “SVU.” Basically, she’s like the little sister (except that we’re the exact same age) that I never had. I like to poke fun at her, jab at her, mock her a little…but I still love her. Let me repeat that for all of you TSwift haters: I still love her. Yes, Taylor Swift is a little cooky, but Taylor Swift is so fucking talented — and that is something that cannot be argued with.

Case in point: her newest song, “Out of the Woods.” Holy. Shit.

As we all know, her soon-to-be released album, “1989,” will be different from her past records that have made her a worldwide superstar. Moving away from her country roots, Swift is branching into pop music (more so than before), and oh. my. God. is this CD going to be everything.

You can listen to the song here. Prepare yourself, it’s really fucking awesome. I’ve been listening to it on repeat since 8am this morning.

Lyrics below:

Looking at it now
It all seems so simple
We were lying on your couch
I remember
You took a Polaroid of us
Then discovered
The rest of the world was black and white
But we were in screaming color
And I remember thinking…

Are we out of the woods yet?
Are we out of the woods yet?
Are we out of the woods yet?
Are we out of the woods?
Are we in the clear yet?
Are we in the clear yet?
Are we in the clear yet?
In the clear yet, good.
Are we out of the woods yet?
Are we out of the woods yet?
Are we out of the woods yet?
Are we out of the woods?
Are we in the clear yet?
Are we in the clear yet?
Are we in the clear yet?
In the clear yet, good.

Are we out of the woods?

Looking at it now
Last December, we were built to fall apart
Then fall back together
Your necklace hanging from my neck
The night we couldn’t quite forget
When we decided
To move the furniture so we could dance
Baby, like we stood a chance
Two paper airplanes flying, flying…
And I remember thinking

Chorus

Remember when you hit the brakes too soon
Twenty stitches in a hospital room
When you started crying
Baby, I did too
But when the sun came up
I was looking at you
Remember when we couldn’t take the heat
I walked out, I said “I’m setting you free”
But the monsters turned out to be just trees
When the sun came up
You were looking at me.

You were looking at me… Oh
You were looking at me.
I remember.
Oh, I remember..

Chorus
