Just when you thought you’d never hear the phrase, “cunt punt” again, the words of Rebecca Martinson are back to remind us not to be “stupid ass hats” — except this time, in musical form. If I’ve completely lost you here, two years ago the social chair of Maryland’s Delta Gamma sent the most terrifying email to her chapter. It got leaked and — long story, short — went down in sorority history.
Apparently phrases like “I would rather have 40 girls that are fun, talk to boys, and not fucking awkward than 80 that are fucking faggots,” and “I LITERALLY want you to email me back telling me if you’re mentally slow so I can make sure you don’t go to anymore night time events” have served as artistic inspiration to composer Vincent Calianno. Calianno and the other artistic visionaries from the New York based project “The Nouveau Classical Project” have been working hard on their latest project SACRED-PROFANE. The concert which is “part fashion show, part performance art, part homage to a viral email” will include the piece “Sororatorio: a Cuntata.” From the sneak peak below, it looks very — um, artistic.
Co-commission "Sororatorio: a Cuntata" for $50! Sacred-Profane ain't the type of thing to appeal to the prim and proper, so we're counting on you! 😉

Although I doubt Martinson intended her email of terror to be inspirational, metaphorical, or in any way artistic, it is nice to see an otherwise brutal form of cyber bullying go towards something constructive. The show is April 9-10 at the Flamboyán Theater and you can purchase tickets through their kickstarter page..
