The Majority Of Men Are Really, Really Happy With Their Penises

men are really happy with their penises

Most women are totally insecure about their vaginas. We deal with it when we have to, but other than during sex and that special time of the month, we like to ignore it for the most part. It doesn’t surprise me in the least to learn that men are basically the complete opposite.

A study recently surveyed over four thousand American men and found that a whopping 86 percent of them are satisfied with their penises. Those researchers found that the 64 percent of men are most psyched about the shape of the head of their penises, while the lowest satisfaction level was with the length of their flaccid penis size (27 percent).

When it comes to smell (something I think all women are perhaps the most insecure about), men feel basically neutral. 44 percent reported feeling neither satisfied nor unsatisfied with the smell of their penises. Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

The man behind this study is Thomas Gaither, a graduate student at the University of California San Francisco. The outcome of his research was surprising, even to him.

“We really thought there would be some age groups, like younger people, who would be more worried about their genitals and that they would come to accept them as they got older, or that there would be differences in satisfaction among racial or socioeconomic groups. It’s something to think about.”

Wow. So penis satisfaction transcends boundaries like age, race, and economic status. How truly inspiring.

Gaither also expanded on why he thinks men in the study reported lowest satisfaction with their flaccid penis, and he thinks it has something to do with men comparing their flaccid penises to other flaccid men, which is a thing that happens.

“If men are going to see other penises, it’s often going to be in a shower room, where they can see and compare the size of a flaccid penis to their own,” says Gaither.

Gaither thinks his research is important in understanding how men perceive their penises and how that relates to their sexual satisfaction.

“We need to have more honest conversations and help men see themselves in better light so they can have more satisfaction with their sex lives,” says Gaither.

I think his research makes it pretty clear that men are a-okay with how their penises look, and I don’t think they need any more help seeing themselves in a better light. Maybe it’s time to focus on the satisfaction of women during sex for a change. Maybe it’s time to figure out why so many women have never had an orgasm during sex, or have never had an orgasm at all. Maybe we should focus on making women more comfortable and secure with their genitals, as we can tell from this research that the men are doing just fine.
