The ‘Wicked’ Movie Is FINALLY Coming

Wicked

If there’s one thing we all love, it’s show tunes. From blasting them in the car to singing at the top of our lungs in the shower, there’s a certain place in all of our hearts for the songs of Broadway musicals. Ask any girl what her favorite is though, and you’re almost guaranteed to get the same response every time: Wicked. From getting to scream “LOATHING” in a song to the story line of the bitch gone bad, which, of course we can all relate to a little too well, there’s just something about Wicked that gets us every time.

Hold onto your broomsticks, because you won’t have to go to New York to see Wicked anymore – it’s coming to a theater near you. While we knew it had been announced last year, it was still just a far-off concept that may happen at some point in our lifetimes. But now, we finally have a release date – you’ll be able to see your favorite musical-turned-movie on December 20, 2019. I know, I know, it’s a long ways away, and your planner doesn’t even go that far, but at least the end is in sight. Start a countdown on your phone, because in 1280 days, you’ll be singing “No One Mourns The Wicked” in theaters with 250 of your closest friends — and trust me, I’ll definitely be singing in the theater. As with all good things, the wait for Wicked will definitely be worth it. But in the meantime, I’ll be practicing my Elphaba so I’ll know every word as soon as it finally hits theaters.
