Disney princesses have it all: Perfect hair, hunky and generally loaded man-candy, killer outfits, and itty bitty waistlines.
Perhaps too itty bitty.
I get it. They’re cartoons, and it makes sense for their features to be exaggerated. I’m not knocking the presumably male animators behind our favorite movies, because they produced some great shit. Any girl with half a brain knows not to rely on fictional characters to exemplify what a healthy body image should be. Obviously a friggin’ mermaid isn’t going to be a perfect role model for a healthy shape.
Regardless, BuzzFeed’s Loryn Brantz recently decided to edit six of the most popular princesses. She swapped their unrealistic body proportions for more legitimate curves, and the results are pretty kickass.
At first glance they basically look like themselves with huge food babies–but the more you look at the new images, the more ridiculous the originals actually look. I’m still flabbergasted that I never noticed their necks are legitimately THICKER THAN THEIR WAISTS. Take a look at a few here, and check out BuzzFeed to see the rest.
