i am a bit of a makeup junkie and have amassed far more products than necessary, but when i’m getting ready quickly or just going to class or out for a quick errand i have my go-tos:
-smashbox sheer focus tinted moisturizer
-benefit erase paste
-nars blush in orgasm (obvs)
-stila liquid eyeliner
-buxom lash mascara (so good i converted from diorshow)
i also have mini tubes of aquaphor everywhere because i always find myself looking for lip balm
SrattySunshine gave me the heads up that buxom lash might be discontinued soon! I’m also a convert to it after Diorshow (and about a million other mascara brands)
Bare Minerals Buxom lash is my absolute fav mascara, hands down (I’ve been obsessed with Dior, YSL, and CoverGirl too but they just don’t compare to this) Huge lashes, never flakes plus it’s apparently really good for your lashes, which is a tiny silver lining for when you forget to wash your face after a long night out!
I also got this really cool primer at Sephora, it’s called perfekt (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P119802&categoryId=B70). You can use it alone or under other foundation. It’s amazing, it totally blends into your skin so it looks like you aren’t wearing anything (overdone foundation is totes my pet peeve and so trashy) and it works to help reduce, rather than just mask, whatever skin problems you might have. Also for my skin Chantecaille tinted moisturizer is to die for. I know that Laura Mercier’s is the most popular, but I found that it was too heavy and made me break out. Chantecaille is the perfect shade, blends in amazingly, lasts all day and has never caused me to break out!
I love Bare Minerals’ Buxom Lash! I agree that it beats out every other kind out there. Recently I heard Bare Minerals is planning on discontinuing the Buxom Mascara line so next time you are at Sephora grab a few!

It’s so important to realize that everybody’s bodies are different. Not all skinny girls are anorexic– some of them are just blessed with a fast metabolism, and constantly putting them down (ie calling them anorexic) can lead to just as serious body issues as people calling girls at a more “normal” weight healthy. Just so long as you eat right and exercise a healthy amount you’re probably good! Snaps to all women who have the dedication and self-respect to always try to look and feel their best.
I used to use Bare Escentuals for everything, but now I am migrating more towards smashbox. They have the best primer and their new mineral powder is anti-aging…never too young to start with that! Once I run out of my BE bronzer and mascara I plan on switching over to smashbox for those as well. As for eyeshadow, I always start out with a Benefit cream base and I blend different shadows, believe it or not Victorias Secret has amazing eyeshadow, I even use their black as eyeliner.
I LOVE that loose powder. I’m so paranoid about wrinkles and that powder works almost as well as BE (and just as good if you use it over something)
Also I wanted to answer Engaged and Underage about the bronzer– Nars Laguna is incredible, and it works on all skin tones (like their orgasm blush). I’ve been on a huge bronzer kick this summer and have found that I like bronzers with slightly less shimmer though so I’d recommend Smashbox for that. If you want a ton of shimmer they have that too! All of their make up just works so well. I just raided my mom’s make up counter and found a great chanel bronzer that I highly recommend. Also I’m a big fan of mixing in a little liquid bronzer/ luminizer with my moisturizer and applying that under my make-up for a more subtle glow (also works on the decolletage/ legs for a sexy shimmer/ evening out uneven tan lines).
One thing I highly recommend is getting good brushes, especially for blush/ bronzer. Even amazing bronzer or blush will look horrible and streaky if you use bad brushes, and good brushes can make even a so-so product look like it was made for your skin. Anything to avoid that super tacky bronzer streak line you can get on your cheekbones. Gross!
