As someone who spent 7 years of my life battling an eating disorder, I can appreciate this column. Eating disorders are diseases, not diets. “Trying” to be anorexic after seeing thin, beautiful women on tv is not an eating disorder. They stem from deep rooted psychological issues and to attribute them to wanting to be as thin as VS models is ignorant and dismissive of their true nature. So thank you for writing this. These women work ridiculously hard for the bodies that they have. They shouldn’t be shamed out of the insecurities of others, or for achieving the “ideal”, albeit unrealistic, body type.
