Yes, I LOVE this! 🙂 Being a self-absorbed, dependent, foolish waste of space? NS. Being an independent, self-sufficient, brilliant little belle? TSM!

Yay! Thanks for the input; I’ll go get them done for recruitment, and they’ll hopefully be able to last through the whole week, which for me is pretty unusual! 🙂

See, I’m still a fan of a muted french manicure. Definitely no acrylics; just grow your own nails out, don’t glue strips of plastic to the tips of your fingers. But a nice french never looks bad, in my opinion.
I haven’t had the Gels yet though…are they worth the extra money? 🙂 I’m pretty much hell on manicures, mine only last a few days if I’m careful, and I’d looove to try the gels!

Haha my family has started telling me that family dinner starts an hour before it actually does, just so I’ll show up on time! 😉 LITB sister!

    Engaged and underage said:

My mother didn’t speak to me about fashion and baking and money because she didn’t want me to live my life thinking those were the most important things for me to concern myself with. Both my parents, though independently wealthy, went to great lengths to make sure my sister and I were not raised to be selfish, spoiled, shallow, or snobbish, and would become independent, caring, respectful, hard-working women who earned everything they had. So while I don’t have any words of advice about makeup, I do have several inspirational phrases that my mother has repeated to me over the years:
“Proper planning prevents piss poor performance” and “if you fail to plan you plan to fail” are two of my favorites. “Unless you’re holding a gavel in your hand and wearing a long dark robe, you don’t have the right to judge anyone.” “Ten years from now, no one is going to remember what brand of jeans you were wearing, what handbag was on your arm, and what car you were driving. But they will remember the kind of person you were and how you treated them.” “Nobody in this world is going to do you any selfless favors, so if you want something done, do it yourself.” “Marry your best friend.” (And I am!) “Don’t for a second think you’re better than anybody else. You’re a human being and have faults and make mistakes just like the rest of the world. Nobody’s perfect, so don’t pretend like you are.” Something my grandmother taught my mother that she passed down to me is that there are only five things you are entitled to: food, water, shelter, clothing, and medical attention. Everything else is a privilege, so be grateful for what you have.

Aw, you’re always so well-spoken, EngagedandUnderage! 🙂 I see you around TFM all the time and always think to myself what a nice person you seem to be!

When I was like 13, I had a poster in my locker that said “Ten years from now, no one is going to remember what brand of jeans you were wearing, what handbag was on your arm, and what car you were driving. But they will remember the kind of person you were and how you treated them” in my room. Great message, glad to see someone else respects it too. In the end, you can be as pretty and well-dressed as you like, but the type of girl who stands out and gets noticed is the one who is genuinely kind and compassionate. You might catch a man’s attention with a hot bod or an expensive dress, but it’s your personality that’ll keep him around.

Did you see the Bridesmaids one? I cried during that, just because I felt sooo bad for those poor brides with their absolutely evil bridesmaids!!

Wow, super classy nortinaroundtown. Alpha Chi and Chi O have no reason to have issues, any more than AOPi and ADPi do. So we’re one letter off. Big whoop. We don’t give a damn about you, please don’t perpetuate childish nicknames for us. It’s just NS.

Oh gosh, that place is a money pit! I went in for a tube of glitter paint and spent almost a hundred dollars on other things! 😉 Loove it, though!

My thoughts exactly! 😉 I hated seeing extremely large girls on the actual show, too. I don’t really have anything against big girls, it just bothers me that they are promoting an unhealthy lifestyle as if it’s something to be proud of…when in reality, these girls are going to have a slew of health problems down the road.

Camping on the beach in the Keys was most definitely a vacation. Do you know how many fraternity men dock their yachts down there? 😉
