If you’re talking about purging, dear, its not incredibly effective; my abnormal psych professor is an eating disorders specialist so she gave us the stats on that when I took her class and its way harder on the body than the results warrant. It probably makes you feel better, but trust me, its more effective in the long run to allow a little more fat/salt/sugar in your regular diet and avoid a craving that leads you to overeat 🙂

^^Totally! I mean we might have to remind the occasional girl that he’s not always being totally serious BUT I had started to miss reading his comments. Now for welcome back sandwiches…

^^I’m really attracted to the ideas of Miami, UVA, USC, UGA/GT/Emory, Georgetown/GWU, and as a wildcard, NYU, and I doubt I would wear the Lilly to the NYU or Georgetown/GWU interview. I’ve always perceived it as a very southern brand so I think it would be better received somewhere like Georgia or South Carolina. I was planning on wearing the dress with a nicer, dressy cardigan but DG’s comment made me think and now I’m planning on finding a black blazer with camel buttons (though I can see where camel buttons might not look great against black) to tone the dress down but still go with the pumps if I decide to go that route.

Glad you’ve considered them! It would be a shame if the interviewer judged you on your appearance rather than your work. I’d keep it simple/clean so you can let your intelligence and academic record make the impression instead of a bold outfit. Best of luck!

When I interviewed for medical school, I wore a well-tailored Theory suit in a light grey with a white Theory shirt. I stood out because everyone was in black, their suits were ill fitting, or they looked wholly under-dressed. Mostly, though, I stood out because my hair was recently cut, highlighted and immaculately coiffed, my nails were polished with a natural shade, my makeup was understated but elegant, and I was wearing my grandmother’s pearls. These things are what will make you stand out as a polished sorority woman, not a Lilly Pulitzer dress (though I own 2 of hers in Hotty Pink- great color!). I think where you interview and what it is for will help determine what you should wear, but just remember that clothing is only a part of how you present yourself. I am sure you will shine on your big day(s)!!! Best of luck!!!

And trust me, you will stand out no matter what you wear. Nothing helps you show yourself in your best light like 4 years of sorority life :)

^^Truth to the people in all black, I bet your suit looked amazing and showed your style at the same time. The other parts of self-care are totally true too. I think your bangs and eyebrows are more important than you consciously recognize.

^ha, truth (starting lap for looking at comments more than once). If you dislike someone it generally says something about your opinion of their judgment/actions so I’m not sure that would work out…

No offense, but no self respecting sorority girl would post a picture of their newest pledge class on this site because it’s only going to be torn apart by horny fraternity men. And that picture with the girls in the white has to be fake….literally terrible.

Thank you. That is why I haven’t posted a picture of my chapter’s adorable babies; I don’t want people (read: ignorant fratstars) ripping on them or saying that they’re hot or whatever.

(read: I’m in the fat sorority, but don’t actually know it)

Read: you’re stupid and can’t come up with an intelligent response. Ladies, Panhel love. I completely agree with you both!

    Run along dear, man talk.

Honey, you’re on a thread started by a girl to see other girls post pictures of their new pledges. Sorry you can’t come up with an intelligent response either.

For the record, not all of us are on a mission to tear down every single down in your new pledge class.

You can’t fault us though on the white dress picture. That was just asking for it. Let’s also be honest, you probably laughed a little too.

^^I mean, ALL of us could use a little make-up every now and then and white tends to wash people out in photos. If I was one of those sisters I would probably be upset that a picture with everyone sans make-up in a bad color got online. Not to mention the camera angle is unfortunate for the bottom-left two although I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that the leftmost really just needs to accept a larger size…
PS- I love your profile picture… makes me wish I could have a kitten

Well then Frataholic you might be familiar with the urge to start a family early because you never know if you’ll be able to when you come home.
