So I bought a Lilly dress in hotty pink and am now looking for a pair of heels to dress it up for when I have grad school interviews, but I’m kind of stuck on what color to look for. I doubt I will want to (or be able to) match the pink and the other color in the dress is white, and I cannot bring myself to do white shoes other than espadrilles. Would nude be acceptable or do I need to go for pink/white? If you ladies have any suggestions I would love the link :)

NUDE PUMPS, so great. Something with a heel that’s not too high.

Dolce Vita has some great ones.

I agree with 1772. Nude pumps are classy, and look great with other dresses too. I think it would look more sophisticated than the pink and white :) But that’s just my opinion!

Thank you ladies 🙂 now that I know nude is definitely the way to go I think I want these in camel http://www.aldoshoes.com/us/women/shoes/peep-toe-pumps/84076044-vibbard/38

I am so jealous of all of these BEAUTIFUL and fabulous houses! Like a few of the other posts, we don’t live in our houses due to some horrible out-dated law, so our houses are small and are comprised of several living room-type of rooms as well as a kitchen. It’s a nice place to have chapter and quality time, but as sisters, we really wish we could live in our houses. We love our greek life and our university, but this is the one big aspect of sorority life that we really miss out on :(

I know how you feel! My chapter is new on campus (has been on for 10 years) and new zoning and safety regulations set by our office of fraternity and sorority life has made it very hard for us to find a suitable house. Fortunately a house from a chapter that went off campus like 5 years ago became available and though no girls can live in the house for this year, I think I will be able to have my senior chapter in a proper chapter room.

Yes, taking care of your clothes is classy. Lilly must be treated with the respect she deserves 🙂

Okay so I have a random question, does anyone cut the briefs that are sewn into their norts? Someone told me they did and I thought it was a little strange. Just wanted to be sure it wasn’t just me who thought so.

I can’t imagine them being that comfortable without the extra briefs…

Deflecting the cost like that really is a great idea. Generally a weight change of 10 lbs is equivalent to 1 dress size, so if your goal weight is a loss of 15 lbs you’ll probably go down a full dress size but a good tailor will easily be able to alter your beautiful dress in a way to show off your new shape while maintaining the integrity of the original style. Good luck on your journey to a healthier you!

PanLAM to you too 🙂 I love that we can joke around about budgets and weight gain being NS but actually support one another and help those who need to economize and slim down when the talk is serious.

At the risk of sounding really silly, I was hoping one of you ladies might be able to help me with a dress dilemma… I found this Lilly dress (Dolly in hotty pink) that I absolutely love but it was on sale and there were only two left. One of them fit me perfectly so I bought it but once the thrill of finding such a beautiful dress at a beautiful price wore off, (this is where I’m going to sound dumb) I realized that my goal to slim down by 15 pounds might actually change my dress size. At my goal weight, I wore a dress size 5, and I was just wondering what lilly size you juniors dress 5 ladies wore. I saved $155 on a beautiful dress and am wondering if I shouldn’t just get it taken in later if need be, but my budget is really really GDI, Daddy (and kinda me too) thinks its too dressy for class, and I’m afraid I’m not going to get my investment out of it.

First of all, enjoy it while it fits now. I can’t help on the sizing, but I do have a suggestion. Maybe you can incorporate the dress into your fitness plan. Divide the cost of tailoring by 15 for the amount of weight you want to drop. For each pound you lose, put that sum of money aside to pay for the dress. If you’re losing weight at a healthy rate (~2 lbs. per week) it shouldn’t be too much money at a time. It really is a lovely dress!

That’s a great idea!!! This is why sorority women and their fratdaddies rule the world ;). Its going to take some time to get myself in shape, so I have time to deflect the cost of the alteration, IF its even something I need done. I’ve got a feeling 15 pounds will change my dress size, but it does seem like the dress might hide a little bit of that since its looser in the hips and tighter in the chest anyways. I’m really quite the apple shape right now which is unfortunate looking, but may mean I wont change dress size. PanLAM
