Bama Alpha Phi’s most recent recruitment video has been on a lot of people’s lips lately, because it featured hot, white, women, being “hyper feminine,” as if femininity is a bad thing. It initially received some backlash. So much backlash that the sorority was forced to remove the video, put their social media accounts on private, and issue a public apology for…being themselves? I don’t know.

But people are finally beginning to stand up to outrage culture. The majority of the discussion on social media right now references utter disbelief that people could be offended by a group of women having fun.

And sorority women are no exception. At a time right before recruitment, when they quite literally might view one another as enemies, or at least competition, sorority women are coming out in support of Alpha Phi. The original post began in the beloved sorority Facebook group, The Cooler Connection.

And from there it grew.

It’s wonderful that sorority women — the women this video was aimed at — see it for what it is. A showcase of the sorority’s sisterhood..
