Remember back in the day when having a penis was totally in? The guys got to run the show and the ladies just walked around in aprons, making sandwiches and speaking when spoken to?
Yeah. Those days have officially ended.
It isn’t news that women have taken over the comedy scene. We’ve all mutually agreed that we would go down on Amy Schumer. Most of us have preordered Mindy Kaling’s new book. The big guys in change are turning legendary boy movies into female blockbusters. As we welcome these new faces of comedy with open arms and #WCWs, we have to remember some of the ladies who made laughing a thing for our generation. They gave us “Mean Girls.” They gave us “Bridesmaids.” They gave us fetch, and “Help me I’m poor,” and endless moments to quote with our friends when we were drunk on $2 glasses of wine at happy hour. Finally, three of our favorite ladies are coming together to give us the movie we didn’t know we were waiting for.
Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph are all coming together, and it’s exactly how you imagined it would be: perfect. Set to be released on December 18, the film is called “Sisters.” Basically Amy and Tina play two grownup sisters who visit their hometown after their parents decide to sell their house. Maya plays their bitchy neighbor and everything is finally right in the world.
