Fourteen years of pre-professional ballet training including 25-30 hrs/week all through high school. I suppose it may be more of an art than a sport, however dance requires a level of stamina, strength, and muscle control that matches any competitive athletic event.

So glad I see a fellow ballerina! I was the same way! Five days a week at least 4 hours everyday. And while yes, it is an art, it has also become a definite sport but also teaches a young lady discipline, poise, and grace.

I know the feeling. I danced with a pre-professional company up until an injury the summer before my senior year. I miss it so much! It takes so much dedication and focus. Every young lady should study at least some dance form, if not ballet.

“A Great and Terrible Beauty”, “Rebel Angels”, and “The Sweet Far Thing” by Libba Bray are all a part of a three book series, and they are amazing. They have some supernatural elements so if you’re not into that you might not like them, but they are awesome books. If you’re looking for something a little more intense these are perfect, and they are really easy to read! You will not be able to put these down once you start.

Def amazing series. I am in the middle of Rebel Angels right now and love it!

A Reliable Wife if you like a bit of mystery
Anything by Phillipa Gregory. She wrote The Other Boleyn Girl and has several books about King Henry VIII’s wives. Most of her books are based in England and are historical novels. I can’t get enough!
    Anything by Meg Cabot.
