Not true in all cases. I had been on birth control for 6 years and still had a pulmonary embolism. Please be safe and know all the things that can happen. 🙂
While this is a horrible tragedy indeed, it is not uncommon. I myself was minutes away from dying from the exact same thing as that young girl (a pulmonary embolism). For that doctor to send her home is an outrage, no doubt. Ladies, if you’re on birth control and have to have any type of surgery, save yourself and demand to get on blood thinners before your surgery. The doctors will say you’re’ fine because you’re young and healthy, but learn from my demise. I almost died at the age of 23 from a massive PE due to my extensive surgery with birth control being a contributing factor. I know this young girl didn’t have surgery like I did, but if I can maybe save or educate one young woman on this I’m OK with that. Please be smart and read all of the side effects (with a PE being one of them in all birth control pills).
