There is history behind our mascot, the Gamecock, or The Fighting Gamecock. It is named after General Thomas Sumter from the Revolutionary War. But wait, that is irrelevant, just like you bashing our mascot. I can promise you not many people that attend USC are offended by being called the Cocks. We all think it’s funny, frankly. Hence, why we wear many forms of clothes with COCKS plastered across them. If anyone is offended by the mascot we take pride in, we will send them to The University of Delaware.
