Slavery was actually originally intended to be a reason for the North to be able to politically keep the British and French from supporting the South in their seccession. It was actually a failed attempt, because cities on the coasts of England and France built, and became the home ports to, Confederate commerce-raider ships, such as the CSS Alabama.
As a dude who was in the original thread on this last night and got about 30 likes on my historically-based comment, I feel fairly proud of myself. Also, Cooler Connection has some super-great design ideas on it. Get on it ladies, because the opportunities for being able to make some super-cool crafts for your best friend/ boyfriend/ significant other/ formal date are completely endless (and can very likely be found on The Cooler Connection).
