Greek life is amazing because people look to see what they have in common with each other, even if it means hazing to force people to have stuff in common with each other. Unity and a sense of belonging is an amazing thing that makes life worth living. It makes you feel like you belong. It is community. Minorities don’t look for unity. They look to see what makes them different so than can attempt to harvest sympathy from the weak hearted. More sympathy = more handouts. Conforming to a liberal society doesn’t make you belong. It doesn’t make you right. It damn sure doesn’t make you a good person. It just makes you a dainty, weak minded individual. Not to say minorities can’t be in greek life. But the forced idea of integration isn’t a good thing. Every SINGLE instance of a chapter anywhere exhibiting close-mindedness is blown up on social media and its ridiculous. The amount of sympathy that will be granted due to this very video would surprise you and not lead to anything positive
However disgusting this maybe, its not as disgusting as UC Irvine banning the American Flag. I know ill get down voted by lets be perfectly honest here, fraternities are not the only ones guilty of keeping it predominantly homogonous and deep deep down inside, we all know there is a reason for that. These boys went WAY overboard and deserve what they have coming for them, but at the end of the day greek life would be fucked if there wasn’t some degree of exclusivity.
