“Blackfish” is a severely one-sided ‘documentary’ (if you can call it that)
There are so many accounts of it being wrong and prejudicial that its almost funny.. if you do accidentally watch this, do some research on the elaborate stories they make up.

Also, not all animals can be reintroduced into the wild once they are rescued and rehabilitated.. just look at Keiko (aka Free Willy). He died two years after being released because the wild whales wouldn’t accept him back into the pack and he yearned for human interaction. Basically died of loneliness.

Blanket statements like that are how rumors get spread and facts get misrepresented.
The money goes to raising awareness and education, period.

The American Cancer Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Yes, they pay people salaries. Yes, they pay for educational materials to be printed. Yes, they rent venues to hold events.
    That’s how you spread awareness.
You wouldn’t do your job for free would you? The ACS employees that organize fundraisers and other events still need to be paid for their time (its their full time job!). Without these people, they wouldn’t be able to raise thousands and thousands of dollars for education and awareness. All of the events do have many volunteers that donate their time, but someone has to organize said event for it to work.

I find this article very negative. Instead of looking at all of the positive things the Crucial Catch campaign is doing, you have only focused on what they are not doing.

Breast Cancer awareness and education is just as important as research and is already saving lives.
The NFL doesn’t campaign that they are going to cure this terrible disease, they are donating money to exactly what they advertised. From the American Cancer Society website (which you reference in the article, but chose to overlook):
“The goal of screening exams for breast cancer is to find cancers before they start to cause symptoms (like a lump that can be felt). Screening refers to tests and exams used to find a disease, such as cancer, in people who do not have any symptoms. Early detection means using an approach that lets breast cancer get diagnosed earlier than otherwise might have occurred.
Breast cancers that are found because they are causing symptoms tend to be larger and are more likely to have already spread beyond the breast. In contrast, breast cancers found during screening exams are more likely to be smaller and still confined to the breast. The size of a breast cancer and how far it has spread are some of the most important factors in predicting the prognosis (outlook) of a woman with this disease.
Most doctors feel that early detection tests for breast cancer save thousands of lives each year, and that many more lives could be saved if even more women and their health care providers took advantage of these tests. Following the American Cancer Society’s guidelines for the early detection of breast cancer improves the chances that breast cancer can be diagnosed at an early stage and treated successfully.”
When diagnosed while a tumor is still localized, a person has a significantly higher chance at survival. This is precisely why it makes perfect, logical sense to educate and inform men and women about how to catch this disease as soon as possible whit early detection. If you would like some factual reading on the subject, please take a look at this study: http://www.cancer.org/acs/groups/content/@research/documents/document/acspc-042725.pdf

In response to the amount of money donated from sales: DUH!
The NFL is the one saying they are donating their proceeds. If you are a t-shirt manufacturer, and the company you are making the t-shirt for decides they are going to support a charity, that doesn’t mean that you also have to donate your time and materials. I would hope people have common sense enough to figure that one out on their own.

I celebrate with you for beating breast cancer. I know the struggle and fight is real and that you were undoubtedly strong through it all.
But shame on you for having the audacity to criticize a program that is clearly striving to help people and save lives.
