While my formal days are sadly over, I could definitely see myself at the JLA ball in this :) Hoping I can find something similiar in a more vibrant color!

First of all, let me say I LOVE your name. Are you/were you a nursing major? Or pre-med?

I love that dress. My formal days are sadly over as well, and I wore a long gown to my last formal two months ago. That BCBG is gorgeous. I would love that in seafoam green or coral for me personally.

Thanks hun! I just graduating nursing school, sit for boards Friday actually… but plan to go back for anesthesia in the next few years!

I love BCBG! I also wore a floor length bcbg gown in red to my last formal. I have dark hair so red usually works well, but seafoam and coral are two of my favorite colors! Wishing you the best in your post grad life!

Before anyone calls me out on my typo … Graduating = graduated :)

Crazy!! I sit for boards today. In like two hours. It’s surreal. Good luck!!

Hope you did well! Only had 75 questions on mine today :)

I passed with 75 questions too! I found out a day early!! I’m sure you passed as well! 🙂

Yeah I agree that comment is NS. Be classy. No need to bless anyone’s heart and be snobby all at the same time.

Girls, any suggestions of perfume? I am addicted to my Miss Dior Cherie but I’m looking to try something new. Any ideas of something light, floral and classy?

I’ve been wearing Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue for 5 years and counting..I love it

    Running. I ran 7 half-marathons last year!

I agree! It keeps your body in shape, endurance is a plus, and it’s a huge accomplishment to do whatever miles you can clock each day. What guy doesn’t like to see a girl run fast and hard?

That’s awesome on the 7 half marathons! 🙂 keep it up!

So I had to actually google Chacos because I had no idea what they were– and I am glad to say I have never seen any respectable sorority woman at my school wearing those things. Gross.

DG: Jack Rogers are very popular in the south, not just Florida (and if Neiman’s carries them, they can’t be too much of a “trashy Florida thing”), and I love mine- but ladies, just make sure to replace every once in a while, tailgating tends to trash them and dirty old sandals are disgusting.

I agree on the dislike of Vera Bradley though, it is tacky, and a bit too high school. I had a VV tote in college, but use a North Face backpack in medical school (books are a bit heavier).

Yurman is getting so overdone- how special is a piece of jewelry if everyone you know already owns some variation of the same piece? My classic look is generally pearl necklace, diamond studs, monogram ring, watch. Ask for a nice watch for a graduation present- I adore my Cartier Tank and it is something that will last a lifetime.

I also use a North Face book bag since I carry a lot for my Premed classes.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention Frye boots. I have a pair and I am totes in love with them!
I agree that the big Longchamp is a must. Vera Bradley never sat well with me. A new trend that my sorority is obsessed with are the tervis tumblers. They’re perfect for drinks –hot or cold– and you can get them in your schools colors or get them custom made.

The school I go to get’s super cold so I prefer to wear Patagonia or North Face Jackets. For jeans I am a huge fan of Lucky Jeans -True Religion is also another favorite. In the summer I always have my sperrys and rainbows.

Chacos are hideous along with those shoes that shape around your toes. Can’t remember the name of them (and really don’t want to lol).

Tervis Tumblers are big at my school too – I have three of them! I love it!!

Obviously someone liked our castle since legally blonde was filmed in it… Proud to be in the real “delta nu” at Southern California :)

Fun fact. Before my chapter affiliated with AXO, we were founded as a local sorority called Delta Nu. Sorry to burst your bubble.

From the IMDB website: “In the novel, Elle is a member of Delta Gamma, an international sorority which is part of the Panhellenic Conference. It was changed to Delta Nu to avoid problems with the real organization.”

and the Delta Nu crest in the movie looks like the DG crest.

Also, forgot to add: My chapter ordered norts in light pink with our letters stitched in black. They are an absolute staple!

I know I’m about to get bombarded with girls calling me NS, but here it goes anyway:
I like solid Lilly dresses, but not printed ones. I see too many girls wearing the prints and I like to wear pieces that aren’t owned by 100 other girls on campus. That being said, I’m not a fan of Sperry’s or North Face jackets either. Like a girl already said, they remind me too much of middle school.
I’m obsessed with skinny and bootcut jeans. I like Seven for a dressier jean option, but I usually stick to jeans with details. I’m obsessed with fashion so I tend to lean towards more individual pieces than generic, plain ones. I love True Religion, Big Star, and Lucky Brand.
I love buying dresses, skirts, and cute tops from Anthropologie, Free People, Nordstrom, UO, and South Moon Under. My style is elegant and girly and obviously full of earth tones and pastels.
Of course I have my preppy pieces, too. I rely on chino shorts through the summer and I adore layering J. Crew cardigans over my dresses. I have the Jackie cardigan in every color. I love anything patchwork from VV and lately their dresses have been catching my interest. They’re using more prints, which I love. I could never find anything I liked before because everything made me feel like a middle-aged mother, a look I’m not exactly going for.
I wear jewelry and accessories every single day. I usually wear a color-coordinating bow in my hair or a headband to keep my hair out of my face. Speaking of hair, I keep mine at a long length with simple layers for texture. I always always always have a srat swoop. Finding a stylist who can perfect it is a must. I rotate my pearls with my two Tiffany & Co necklaces. I have an initial charm on a shorter necklace and a heart key charm on a longer necklace. While I do love Tiffany, but I feel like the heart tag pendants are overdone. I also love Yurman Albion rings and while I don’t own a cable bracelet, I wouldn’t mind receiving one as a gift. ;) I think it’s okay to play around with earrings. I always fall back on my pearls and diamond studs, but I feel like earrings are the one piece of jewelry that I can play with without looking tacky. I also always wear my Trollbeads bracelet. It reminds me of my family and each bead has a purpose. Along with my Yurman ring, I wear a ring with my letters engraved on it along with a ring my boyfriend gave me. I feel like every girl should own at least one Longchamp and one crossover. Personally, I like solid, leather crossovers. For going out, I like Betsey Johnson. Her bags are patterned and colorful without being overdone. I’m over Coach and Chanel. There are too many knockoffs and I get eyesores when I see Louis Vuitton. I think Vera Bradley wrislets and camera cases are okay, but anything bigger than should be reserved for soccer moms and middle schoolers.
As for shoes, Jack Rogers are essential. They’re so durable that I can wear them virtually everyday and they match almost everything. I love pairing jeans with Toms. They come is so many colors (the glittery ones are adorable) and are so lightweight and comfortable. Besides, who doesn’t love a good cause? When I wear Norts, I like to pair them with my Nikes. Rainbows are always reliable but I usually save them for the beach or pool. I actually just learned what Chacos are and I can’t say I like them. I think we used to refer to shoes like that as “Jesus sandals.” Last but not least, I have to have my leather boots to pair with my leggings during the cooler months. I also love Patagonia and VV fleece vests for winter.
I apologize for such a long post. I think it’s important to look put together and respectable without looking like a clone. It’s important to retain your individuality, otherwise you’ll get lost in the crowd and personally, I love standing out. :)

I agree with the North Faces! Overdone..would rather have Mountain Hardwear (my fuzzy fleece) or a Patagonia (like you said). I like anything other than the Tiffany’s heart tag pendants too, I think we need a little more variety here. My sorority got custom toms for recruitment last year with Anchors on them, which I totally adore and love!
