I probably wouldn’t think to donate to shark conservation either, maybe something else, maybe later on in life when I have more money that I can happily give it away, but you should try to sound a little less ignorant.
Alexander McQueen, Phillip Lim, Zach Posen have done target collaborations as well and they are all significantly more expensive and luxury than Lily Pulitzer. Do you think anyone with a $5,000 Philip Lim bag was complaining when target did a collab with him? No. What about the person who curated the exhibit of Alexander McQueens clothing in New York? Definitely not. It’s not like these pieces are going to be the $300 Lily quality being sold for $35; these pieces will be a cheaper quality, not nearly as nice, and any true Lily fan will be able to distinguish the difference and not care. It’s a good move on Lily’s part for business because it opens up their fan base for the two or so months it is in stores. It’s not like this is permanent! Just keep buying your expensive pieces if it matters so much to you, and hey- maybe you’ll find a cute pattern at target that you actually like!
