To clarify, the sorority I was in was bottom tier at my first school and top tier in my second school so yes I pulled a shitty superficial move and transfered so I could be top tier. The moral of the story was i done fucked up and regret my decision
I’m very conflicted on this article and because I do sympathize with you so I’ll give my experience with the same thing. In high school I was always considered “popular.” I dated hot guys, I drove a “fancy car,” I was beautiful, and my parents had money. However, when I rushed I was dropped from every house and ended up getting into a bottom tier. I accepted the bid, but let me tell you this was the wake up call I needed. It hurt really bad that because of the group I was in people treated me differently and guys were more hesitant to date me. Ultimately, I dropped out of school and transferred because I couldn’t handle the social pressure and I’m now in a top tier at different school. Am I happier? No. Everyday I wonder what would happen if I just stuck it out because being in a top tier is not what it’s cracked up to be. The “hot guys” we hangout with are douche bags, my sisters for the most part are bitches, and I’m still extremely insecure the same way I was in a bottom tier. The grass is always greener on the other side, so be careful what you take for granted.
Wouldn’t say that she gave them money because she just loves sororities or DG in particular. These girls go to an Ivy League school. Ellen, being such a huge supporter of feminism, would not have donated money to a chapter that’s main focus was on superficial things with no merits, like UA alpha phi for example.
Loved this article, but I think you missed the huge stereotype that sorority women get and that is being drunk bimbos looking for fraternity dick that live off daddy to support their expensive lifestyle…and I will admit there are tons of sorority girls at my school like this. Stereotypes don’t just come up for a reason, I’ve read plenty of articles by tsm writers that support this.
(Reference “my parents pay for everything and I’m not ashamed” for proof)
Idk why people think this is acceptable….my dad would knock their brains out if he saw something like that when he was moving me in. It’s hard enough being a women in college but this just further emphasizes the notion that girls in college only serve to be sex objects for frats guy. Come on ladies, stick up for yourselves.
it’s not so much that you’re offending people and they can’t take a joke but it’s more of you’re writing about very controversial issues and there’s always gonna be two sides to an argument and as a writer you have to accept the possible backlash. But that’s exactly why I love tsm, you guys always show different views and opinions and it gets people talking.
Hahaha your comment is almost as hilarious as your user name “Donald trumpet…” you go to a liberal arts college and plan on having money like your parents when you’re older? Have fun finding sugar daddy to pay for your fancy country club when your parents cut your spoiled ass off
So basically, you wrote this long ass article to tell everyone that your parents are rich and you have no college debt… Congrats you are the lucky .0001%
While I do agree with your opinion, I don’t like the statement you said about how women who aren’t beautiful will have a hard time finding love. People always tell me I’m the “marissa” of my group of friends and I’ve been single the longest. Guys don’t approach me a lot of the times because they’re intimidated or think I have a boyfriend already. Being beautiful is not the only thing that men look for in a woman.
This is from the same person who wrote an article about daddy paying for everything and having a poor boyfriend? Hahaha oh god please save the feminist speech you sound like a hypocrite
Your parents obviously didn’t teach you anything about money. 95% of anyone who has a lot of money worked extremely hard for it. I come from a well off family as well, but my dad works like a dog for what we have and I am grateful for it everyday and would never take advantage of it like you obviously do. My parents also cut me off once I turned 20 and I pay for everything now, working full time and only making minimum wage. Real life slaps you in the face when you can no longer rely on others to get you what you want. You need to work for it to make it happen. I’ve met girls like you, and they end up falling on their asses because they have poor work ethics and expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. Sorry sweetheart, but unless you’re Kim kardashian life doesn’t work that way. I guarantee 10 years from now your boyfriend will have lots of money he WORKED HARD for and you’ll be single and bitter living in debt after your parents cut you off. I suggest you change your attitude now and realize how much of a lazy entitled bitch you just made yourself sound.
I’m gonna assume you’re in a bitter bottom tier sorority….

Safe to say this is absolutely appalling and I will not be allowing my future daughter to go to JMU.

Nah no disrespect my parents pay for my shit too, I just keep it to myself instead of flaunting it on a website for college aged people, just sayinnn
