I always knew it was a ~rule~ that houses were dry, but I never realized it was actually enforced that strictly. This is probably one of the only times I’m thankful that sororities on my campus don’t have houses, we just have floors in res buildings. I guess the same rules technically apply, but not having a house mom = planned pre games on the floor and boyfriends over every night.
Is this article actually accurate for the majority of chapters, or just ones at strict schools? I’m curious
This comment right here is what the original Jezebel author was trying to get at when they wrote their article- why are thousands of women across the country ignoring their values and putting themselves in hypersexualized situations just to win a competition? The author isn’t an anti-Greek femenazi, she was in a sorority in college and even participates in Derby Days herself…. This whole TSM article is just so off base…
I would have to argue that paying that much money actually does make being in a sorority not worth it. My dues are $350 a semester, and that cost to benefit feels right to me. But paying thousands a semester? There are cheaper ways to get the same benefits
Thank you This is just boring and predictable, shows no personality, and makes these girls seem like the kind of people I wouldn’t want to be friends with.. Boring, predictable, with no personality. Show us actual real life things, philanthropy, values. I don’t care that you have enough money to dance on a yacht
There’s a girl in my pledge class who pledged as a junior, and at my school lots of sophomores get bids. I think it just depends on the school, as it’s pretty common at my school for sophomores to go through recruitment.
This is clearly something for big little reveal… You’re an idiot.
