As someone who was actually hazed, like “really” hazed, I think saying you wish you were hazed is kind of stupid. We had a really tough program, mentally and physically. Yes, it made my pledge class extremely close. Yes, it taught us respect for our chapter and sisters. But we entered our sorority having hated certain sisters, tired as fuck because we went weeks without sleeping more than 4 hours a night and we all had newly emerged anxiety problems that no one spoke about. We are a chapter who doesn’t haze anymore and I’ve never been more proud of that. We give bids to girls that we know will respect us and treat everything like it’s mandatory because we have to be there too. It’s a hard transition but I’m glad we went forward with the changes. Yes, I’ll always miss parts of the old program but there are better ways to earn respect than screaming at a group of girls.

I think this really depends on what school you go to. I’ve only had one or two classes in my three years that I wasn’t automatically withdrawn from if I missed more than 3. Also, my high school was really small and it was more interactive learning. If I need help in college it’s basically like figure it the fuck out or fail.
