I know this is off topic for this forum. However, I am doing some research for a sociology paper that pertains to alot of the views addressed on this site. I am leaving a reply on this particular comment because these reply’s are some of the most intellectual and open minded that I have come across so far. I do not belong to any sorority or fraternity. If someone does, I do not stero type them for wanting to do something they like. I may be one of the few who actually, “Gets it.” But it’s just not for me. I have some other interests I am pursuing. However, I have yet to come across any comments or reply’s to a question I have and do not currently know anyone personally who is involved in a sorority or fratrnity. And I would like to have someone’s response who is involved in the sorority/fraternity culture instead of only taking the route of Google, Wikipedia and other sites.

Are there any fraternities or sororities that actually embrace the “Real” Greek culture? I know they have toga themed parties. And I think they may have some sort of Greek themed ritual when inducting new member’s. But other than that and Greek letters, is there really any celebration of the Greek culture in this country? I am very interested to know.

I was born in this country and have lived in this country my whole life. Other than being Greek, speaking Greek and the ocassional visit to Greece, that is as far as my knowlege goes.

Thank you in advance for any comment’s or answer’s you may have.
