There are the “mom” friends you describe and then there are the “cool moms” of the world. You know the ones you have a good time right along side you, but are casually watching everyone’s drinks just in case, helping you find your way from house to house, and carrying the designated mom bag with everyone’s shit plus things like band-aids and mini hairbrushes just in case. So in friends, like in families, you can end up with either of the two options or something somewhere in between. Sure, sometimes the mom friend can be a little overprotective, but it’s all out of love. In my personal opinion, everyone needs that one friend who maybe has her stuff a little more together and can make sure no one walks out in front of a car. Take it from a girl who has saved a few lives in her day, it can be very necessary.
