Luckily on this website nobody has, but on many other websites and comment threads people are blaming the sorority. I suppose the point about titles is true, but I feel as though naming the sorority or showing our house (which many sites have) is just uncalled for. After reading her last line in this post I couldn’t take it anymore and just had to break my silence.
As a member of this beautiful sorority I must say, this is the last straw for me. Yes what Emile did was terrible and nobody knows what she was thinking or why she did it, but here’s the thing, she HERSELF did it. If the baby was found at a non-Greek house like a house holding only girls who love dogs would we spread the story like wild fire around the web or post “BABY FOUND OUTSIDE DOG LOVER HOUSE”. No, we wouldn’t. The media is making this a sorority issue instead of focusing on the fact that it was the action of one person, or trying to prevent other tragedies like this from happening, instead they are blaming the group and giving us Deltas a terrible name. You’re helping exactly that. I would expect that you, a sorority member yourself would be able to understand that sororities already get a bad rep and saying things like this is only making it worse. “I’d rather have a campus pooper than this girl in my sorority any day. No words.” Very mature and thoughtful of you Veronica, very sisterly. I’m sure if something like this happened to a girl in your chapter you wouldn’t want ignorant comments like that being said about you and your sisterhood.
